I think that makes perfect sense! Iw was getting repetitive watching the yo-yo of 'who's in peril at the end of this season'? That's not to say it won't still happen, but it gives them a bit more wriggle room. And a triangle is stronger than a line. :)
I still wonder why they keep bringing Adam into the picture. No one talked about him this episode, but he was in the clip of Stull cemetery, and Lucifer did mention Michael. I wonder if they'll do something with that eventually.
