Um, it does when you cook it the way I do? Like, the pan's usually not full hot enough when I put it in on the first side, so it has to stay on the first side for a while. Then when you flip it over, you don't want the second side to burn while you try to figure out how long the second side needs, so you turn down the burner by half to give yourself a fighting chance to get back to the grilled cheese before it burns.
