True, they might be going in the comic direction... (I kind of hope they aren't)... or it could just be them making business decisions and trying to get the best deal possible from these actors.
I think you're right and the Edward Norton/Hulk fiasco taught them a lot about what kind of contracts they should be asking these guys to sign in order to make sure they don't have to recast.
Mind you, I prefer Ruffalo's Hulk to Norton's, so I think that worked out for the best for them in the long run.
