S8 coats are up

As some of you may have noticed today, I've been updating the clothing catalog (I momentarily forgot to change the entry dates and take them off RSS/flist feeds - sorry!).

I've now got all the coats updated for S8, including entries for Dean's four new coats.

The fun thing about the S8 coats is that, according to my current brand researcher extraordinaire, Dean has begun to wear women's clothing. He's just being very sneaky about it. ;)

Sam, sadly, does not have any new coats for S8. Dean continues his reign as the Winchester coat-whore.

New shirts for both boys will start going up on Thursday.

I almost choked on my drink reading this LOL! Please elaborate! Somehow I just can't picture Jensen fitting those biceps of his into a woman's coat XP

Hahaha well he has! His new S8 Blue and Green coats are both from Esprit's women's line, as far as my intrepid researcher could find. I perused an example of the coat myself and had to agree.

I guess he just buys an XL ;)

Hehe I wonder if Jensen noticed! Too funny. Tho after meeting him in person I will say that he is much slimmer than he appears on camera. Probably because Dean wears so many layers.

That's true. Jensen IS rather slim. He does have pretty broad shoulders, but then, so do I, and I fit into women's clothing.

I have a friend who used to shop at thrift stores, and his favourite coat was actually a woman's coat... and he never noticed. So, I'm guessing that Jensen most likely hasn't noticed either... unless the tag says "Misses Military" on it, which is what I've seen the jacket called on clothing retail sites. ;)

That's true. Plus that style of jacket is cut much more baggy and boxy. And I just can't see either of the Js being label snobs about clothing. I think they've both said that they "borrow" clothes from set because they hate shopping to begin with.

All this talk about jackets makes me miss the old leather one so much. That and THE AMULET! *shakes fist at writers*

SPN giving Dean to wear women's coats. I usually prefer to wear men's coats over women's. In fact, I have several coats of my dads that I still wear. Men's coats usually have more room in them, a little more baggy, whereas women's are more fitted, at least that is what I have found. So, to have a couple of the coats that Dean wears be from a women's line, is very interesting. They don't look like women's coats.

Yeah, it's very interesting. I guess it helps that they are utility coats, rather than something more... fancy. Like, these coats are for hard outdoor work, rather than aesthetics. So, there's not going to be much difference, because they're utilitarian in design.

Even with aesthetic coats though, it can sometimes be hard to tell women's coats from men's. My bestfriend had a wool coat that he absolutely loved that he bought at a thrift store - I'm guessing in the men's section. Then one day I noticed that it kind of had a flair a bit on the hips that I didn't see very often in mens coats... and I took a closer look and realized that it was actually a woman's cut. But seriously, it was VERY subtle. I never did tell him, because he loved it so much and I didn't want him to be self-conscious about it.
