I do like this episode. I remember when it first was aired I watched it through two times. I guess after all the heavy stuff it was just nice to have a light-hearted Charlie one thrown in and Sam and Dean acting silly at the end - that was a first.
I liked your comparison between Dean and Sam viewpoints here: - Also, I find it interesting to see things from Dean's point of view, now that we know the end of the season. Because Charlie got the story from Dean, we can assume that her wording is a result of the story as Dean told it - meaning, that the way Dean sees it, he came back and interrupted Sam's normal life. Whereas, the way Sam saw it, his normal life was an illusion that couldn't last, and what's worse, by trying to keep it anyway and ignoring who he was, Sam once again let down Dean.
I thought it was also interesting that Charlie reinforces the idea that it is better to face reality than to hide in a "dream" world.
