One of the things that we have to remember is that Crowley really does know the boys and he is scarier due to the fact that he knows how to twist things up for them and he still thinks of them as those denim wrapped nightmares... He knows that they are so underestimated too much - Azazel, Lilith, Lucifer, (all of them don't really get the Winchesters and the things they are capable of).
Very good point. Abaddon is more straightforward and also more likely to underestimate them, given that she's been gone for pretty much their entire lives and hasn't learned the lesson not to, like Crowley has.
I'm still unsure of Zeke but then again, we were not totally sure of Castiel in season 4 - he worked his way into our hearts right.
Very true. And fan reaction has also been good to him... I don't know if Carver takes that into account, but I know originally Cas was supposed to go evil, but because fans loved him so much, Kripke went a different route.
