I wasn't actually thinking it was stupid, until it that last episode where Scott figured out the tattoo was connected to the Nemeton. Now THAT was stupid for me.
Yes, agreed. I kind of completely ignored that part because I hated it so much. It'd be better if the tattoo was somehow symbolic of Scott's future pack or something - like Derek's tattoo is the symbol for the Hale pack and the Alpha pack have their own symbol, etc.
I mean, FINE if it's based on the Nemeton that was retconned into being there when Scott was bitten... but I think that has to be the extent of it - no psychic connections or foreshadowing or anything.
LOL I remember watching that scene, and thinking, yeah, I can totally see right through you Derek, and that's a quick and dirty way to get rid of Isaac, go you for doing it in such a manner that I'm sure Isaac would cotton on to the fact there was something wrong as soon as he calmed down, and then going to tumblr and saw a near complete fandom meltdown of the scene. And I sat there thinking there must be something I missed.
Exactly!! Oh tumblr. I should remember how much it freaks out about the slightest thing. Obviously, Isaac calmed down and figured it out enough to come back with Boyd to try to protect Derek.
I find that I pretty much ship everyone with everyone, in regards to the love relationships in the show. I do read a lot of Sterek fics, as I find that the other odd pairings are not as well-written as I thought they would be, but when it comes to on-screen I can pretty much ship anyone (that is age-appropriate to each other).
Same! Except that I can't really get behind Scott/Stiles, because to me that's too much like Sam/Dean, it'd have to be REALLY well written for me to accept what is basically incest... even though I know Scott and Stiles aren't actually related, they're just such brothers to one another. Other than that though, everyone is fair game (who are age appropriate...ie: teenagers/Derek NOT shipped with parent-generation.)
I would love to see more of Derek/Talia, or even Derek with one of the parents, having a child-parent moment. My headcanon that Derek would love a surrogate parental figure, if only to complain to them how exasperated he finds the teenagers being :p
Agreed!! I'd love to know more about Derek's place in the Hale pack. I agree with (what I think might be fanon) that Derek was never meant to be alpha. He was obviously one of at least 3 children. 8 people (according to the police report) were killed in the fire, 11 people according to Derek (7/10 if we subtract Cora). So, did Derek have more siblings? Were the other deaths Peter's family? Other pack members? We know some of them were human...I want to explore that more as well.
I'd also love to see Derek interact with the parents. I kind of feel really cheated in retrospect that we never got to see the Sheriff interview Derek about Laura's death back in 1x01... I'd love to see their interaction now that the Sheriff knows what Derek is and what's been going on. I'd also love to see how Melissa relates to him - as of right now, the one scene they were in together, she just ignored him.
Obviously, Derek's interacted with Chris the most, but that relationship is always going to be tense and distrustful and angry... I want to see Derek with the Sheriff or Melissa, who I think would be infinitely kinder to him, and who Derek wouldn't see as a threat.
