I REALLY expected Derek to say "that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard" after Scott finished - but nope.... they actually played it straight, like it WASN'T the stupidest thing we'd ever heard.
I wasn't actually thinking it was stupid, until it that last episode where Scott figured out the tattoo was connected to the Nemeton. Now THAT was stupid for me. Did the Nemeton gave Scott, Stiles and Allison a psychic link on that very night when Scott was bitten? Does this mean that Scott had a foreshadowing of the Darach? Could he sense her presence by then? Is he psychic? The Nemeton is connected to Derek's Paige storyline, which in turn is connected to Julia being resurrected as Jennifer, and nothing to do with Scott being a true Alpha and whatnot, unless you count the link that the Darach was there only for the Alpha pack AFTER it came to BH, but that's reaching. And that circle of thought is giving me a headache, but I hope you get the gist.
...how wrong it was for Derek to throw that glass at Isaac and kick him out. Well, yeah, sure... but I completely understood why he did it, and this is DEREK we're talking about? What did you expect?..
LOL I remember watching that scene, and thinking, yeah, I can totally see right through you Derek, and that's a quick and dirty way to get rid of Isaac, go you for doing it in such a manner that I'm sure Isaac would cotton on to the fact there was something wrong as soon as he calmed down, and then going to tumblr and saw a near complete fandom meltdown of the scene. And I sat there thinking there must be something I missed.
I find that I pretty much ship everyone with everyone, in regards to the love relationships in the show. I do read a lot of Sterek fics, as I find that the other odd pairings are not as well-written as I thought they would be, but when it comes to on-screen I can pretty much ship anyone (that is age-appropriate to each other). I also love the parent-child relationships, and that little scene with Stiles using his mum as a weapon against his dad, it was both heartbreaking and shows the depth of the bond between them. As is with Allison/Chris Argent and Scott/Melissa McCall. This is one area that Teen Wolf got it right. I would love to see more of Derek/Talia, or even Derek with one of the parents, having a child-parent moment. My headcanon that Derek would love a surrogate parental figure, if only to complain to them how exasperated he finds the teenagers being :p
