About the apocalypse thing- Man, that year in purgatory really did wonders for Dean. It was like a retreat. Therapy for Dean apparently spending a lot of time with his best buddies and killing lots and lots of monsters. Huh.

I haven't seen the episode yet, but I am cracking up at the idea of a not-dying grandfather saying that and Sam looking all awkward and being like, "um." Hell, I'm cracking up even without that, thinking about Bobby. Yes, new grandfather dude, Bobby *was* awesome. And you probably would have liked him a lot more than John.
One other random thought- the difference between the show and fic: if this had been fic, Castiel definitely would have been involved, and wouldn't that have been a cool thing to add in the mix.
