Well, as far as meeting up with Dean later is concerned, I think what Sam's trying to say is that although he doesn't want to get back into hunting, he also realizes it was wrong for him to cut his family out of his life like that. I think what he meant was that he still wants to see Dean, still wants to be his brother etc., just doesn't want to hunt.
