Patience...

There's a poem I want to post here. It's nothing special. I think it is four lines long. I wrote it in January. Anyway, I've been wanting to post it here for the past couple of weeks, but I want to put a picture with it. It can't just be any picture of course, because the picture has to suit the poem. I needed a cityscape. I looked at all the pictures on my computer and realised that I apparently don't like taking pictures of cities. I have a couple of Venice that my sister took, but they won't do. I need a more modern looking city...one with tall apartment buildings and skyscrapers. I had this picture in my head of a concrete jungle.

Then I remembered a picture I had taken in Ireland back in 2003, and I thought "ok, not what I was originally thinking, but it could work on different levels." The problem is, of course, that it's the classic photo - on paper. It's in an album. I have to scan it. "No problem," I thought, "I have my scanner right here!" (Here is where it is important to know that I'm currently at my Mum's, just outside of Ottawa). Then I realised, (thankfully before I set up the scanner) that the picture wasn't here, it was in Montreal, where my scanner is not.

So, no problem, I just have to wait until I move back. I'll move all my stuff back at the end of April, and I'll be able to scan that picture and then post that poem. It'll all be great, it'll be perfect...not the sort of picture I was originally thinking of, but it could just work.

Of course, "until I get around to it in May" is a long time to wait for an update to this journal...but I can't seem to think of anything else to post. The poem has consumed my mind. I MUST post it next. It's ridiculous really, because it will be horribly anti-climactic. It's only four lines long for starters, not to mention that it's very vague and sort of strange.

But that's the way life is I suppose.
