And I never suggested that you needed to be. But the show has been pretty clear about the things it thinks the boys have fallen into grey areas with. Sleeping with the enemy (sometimes literally). Lying to each other. Doing terrible things in the name of something greater. Making hard choices. Seeing things as too black and white. So on and so forth.
How they treat women has never been one of them. Because it's not really 'how the Winchesters treat women'. It's "How Supernatural Treats Women"...and they've really not improved their track record on that one.
I would like them to. I'd even given them a free pass on the gender-based slurs if they'd simply fall back a little less on the "sexy" dead woman / woman in pain visual cliches.
They don't even have to have fewer dead women (though man, I'd really like Ellen back...and the sheriff lady to keep breathing). Hell, if they just never had a scene like the one in this episode again, I'd be happy.
