Good News and Bad News

Good news:
1) I finished having a lovely visit with my best friend - he got on a plane this morning. It was nice to see him. 

2) My ankle is not broken.

Bad news:
1) Our landlord is trying to charge me and my sister $300 for MAINTENANCE on the heater in our apartment. Which means that we're probably either going to have to pay it to keep the peace, or dispute it and risk the landlord making our lives a living hell - which he'll probably do because he's a bastard. We were planning to move out in the spring/summer anyway...but we WOULD like to keep the apartment until then. I don't handle conflict well.

2) I need physiotherapy for my ankle, probably. It's either that or I just leave it. I mean, it's gotta stop hurting eventually right? Sure, the doctor said I needed physiotherapy, but what does she know?

3) I can't afford to live.

More Good News:
3) I had a lovely coffee with someone in the writing/editing field today. He seemed very confident that I could get into the business - it just might take me 3-5 years...but I think that maybe it'd just take me 3-5 years to make decent money. I think other people have higher standards of living then I do.

4) I'm going to resume my rewatch s6 escapades tonight! and get back to cataloging those clothes! Yay!

5) Before my best friend arrived, I wrote a little something for the demented'verse. It's just a short little thing, and I still need to tack on an ending, but hopefully that'll go up sometime this week.

6) Supernatural is on Friday! YAY!

7) I am still alive.

ETA: 8) Jared just announced that he and Genevieve are having a kid! Yay! I am happy for them. Although I've only ever had two conversations with the man, I happen to think he'll be a very good and happy father.

Hey, I thought Canada had this marvelous health care system--how come you can't get therapy for your ankle? :(

I finished my season 5 rewatch and will probably start 6 this weekend so I can follow along with yours :)

Physiotherapy isn't included :( Because I'm low-income, I can get $23 off the appointment (up to 10 appointment/year), but physiotherapists can charge whatever they want, so that doesn't necessarily help all that much. I can claim it as a medical expense on my income tax though.

Hopefully I can keep up with your rewatch speed! :)

Poor you. I hate conflict too, so I get that about the landlord. Can he really charge you for that? Aren't there laws that say what he can charge and what not? Or is the maintenance something excluded in the contract of your lease? Maybe you should check what's in there and what not.

Poor your ankle :-( I sympathize deeply, my own was busted once and I had to get the tendons stitched... only to tear them up about a year later again. Or maybe not torn, but they are seriously weakened now (No PT for me - wasn't even mentionened...)
So good news: it probably will stop hurting if nothing is broken. Bad news: it might never be as stable as it was.
Since you like boots, I recommend to wear ankle-high boots whenever you leave paved roads and maybe keep the high-heels to a minimum ;-)

Yeah, the time I sprained my ankle bad enough to have to go to the hospital, they just determined that it wasn't broken and sent me home - there was no mention of PT or anything. So, part of me is thinking that maybe it'll just get better on it's own this time, and I can save some money...but, yeah, I probably should go to at least one PT appointment just to hear what they have to say.

Ooo...ankle-high boots. Haha. I love having an excuse to get new boots. And I already can't walk in high-heels, so we're good there :P

The landlord can't charge for maintenance - but he's claiming that it's a repair job for something we broke (which he WOULD be able to charge us for, except that he's lying - I asked the repair guy). Anyway, since we're claiming one thing and he's claiming another, we're going to have to have an official dispute and go to court about it - unless when we serve him with the dispute papers, he does the wise thing and realize that he's an ass and we won't be taken advantage of.

That being said, he really is an ass - so we're afraid that if we piss him off, he'll just make our lives a living hell. Or not give us our damage deposit back, or evict us or something...sigh. It sucks.
