You can splice the clips, and click and drag them so that they follow each other. That's the only part I've really figured out - the music looks like it's a bit more complicated if you want to edit it...so I'm a bit worried about synching things.

Just try it! I just popped in a Supernatural episode and then randomly decided to isolate one scene and splice together all the shots of Dean...and that's how I taught myself those functions. But yeah, I've mostly just used "splice" "start point" and "end point"...and then played with the speed.
