Hey Everybody,

I just wanted to put up a quick note to say that I'm doing this thing UNSPOILED. I know nothing about the next four episodes and I'd like to keep it that way please! So, yeah, none of you have ever spoiled me in comments (besides for other shows that have already aired and I just never watched)...so basically I'm just saying "keep up the good work!"

Also, if we are mutual friends and you want to talk about spoilers on your own journal, can you please put it behind cuts, so that I don't get spoiled while reading my flist?!

Thanks!

I was so horribly spoiled for S4 and S5 that it just almost totally ruined those seasons for me. I've been living under a rock for S6 and so far so good (with the exception for maybe one or two episodes and those are only via certain images). So Thanks for this! :)

No worries! I really like watching the show as unspoiled as possible. I stopped watching the Space promos last year when they completely ruined the surprise!Adam return.

I'll try not to spoil S6 for you on my journal. I can't promise perfection though. I'm guessing that you wait for the DVDs?

I do. But I've actually made it this far with only a couple of teeny spoilers along the way. Mainly my big one is that Sam lost his soul and got it back - but ZERO DETAILS about said incidents. And it was something that I couldn't avoid at all. I've also been spoiled for some very pretty pictures of Cowboy!Dean, but that's it. :) It's okay if it's inadvertent because the minute I see anything resembling post SWAN SONG I stop reading.

I don't expect people to wait until January 2012 to not spoil me so I just assume full responsibility of being unspoiled.

Good good! Sometimes I forget - and the usual policy is that if it's aired, then it's not a spoiler anymore.

But yeah, you'll hear no details from me! And it's hard to resist the pretty pictures of cowboy Dean - I too was horribly spoiled for that episode because of all the pretty. ;)

Good plan! Do you wait until Christmas to get the DVDs then? I always buy them in the fall, because I'm horribly impatient to start doing things like clothing catalogues and rewatch posts :P

Nope. I just wait for my library to get it to me... which will be January/February-ish... And then I watch it once and that's usually that. The only time I felt compelled to buy was when Season 1 was under $20 around my birthday last year and when I found S3 also under $20 and those were my two favorite seasons. I'd get S2 but for some reason Disc 1 on every Season 2 I've ever tried (and I've tried like 3 or 4) won't play on my laptop = only the crap DVD player that skips every other minute like clockwork. So yeah. S2 isn't worth it for that and I just don't like S4 or S5 enough to purchase.

I still know no plot details - just saw the pretty. And as far as I'm concerned still images aren't really spoilers because there's nothing about the context or the real content. And I don't expect everyone to keep me in the dark because I wait so long but I do steer clear as much as I can and avoid as much as I can - I put all the burden on myself and don't expect others to do anything...

Oh libraries...that makes sense.

Weird about S2 not working, but *shrug*. I have this thing about owning things that I like - it makes for a very full library of books and such. Finances have caused me to go to libraries more, but even so.

Yeah. Apparently the WB changed the encryption for Disc 1, S2 only and now it won't play on a Mac.... all the other discs are FINE and the other seasons are fine... *groans* The biggest shame? I'd buy S2 just for Disc 1 alone because IMTOD and ELAC were awesome (hellooooooooooooooo stripped-down-to-tshirts-Dean....).

The no-DVDs thing might change now that I have a 30% discount at a chain bookstore....

Haha, that job is going to cost you more money than earn you money :P

I have a PC, so I guess that's why they work for me fine. But yeah, it's a shame you don't have IMTOD or ELAC - there is some mighty fine looking Dean in those episodes...

Yeah I have a MacBook and there's something with the encryption that makes my laptop spit out disc 1 without even reading it... :(

I'm more upset about IMTOD.... because that was a stellar Dean episode. And WE HAD WOOBIE!DEAN IN A T-SHIRT AND SCRUB PANTS AND DIRTY FEET!!!! (okay, I have a thing about bare feet...)

I also just looked up S2, S4, and S5, and all three are over $50. Yeah. I don't think so. S2 is like $55. WHAT THE FRIG!? I got S1 for like $20 and found S3 somewhere for $17... so hence is why I own them...

That job is going to be total play money because -- the chances of my paycheck making it out of there? *laughs* Nonexistent.

Indeed...his feet were pretty filthy in that episode.

Over $50!?!!?! That's ridiculous. I didn't even pay that much when they were new. Yeah, definitely wait until they are $20. That's how I got the first 3 seasons, they were all under $20 at some store in the states, so I had my sister in Seattle buy them and ship them to me. Then I bought S4 and S5 for something like $30-40 when they were released.

That - Dean's face right there - was my own reaction. Like S2 was like $55, S4 was $53 and S5 was the cheapest at $51.... And honestly, as much as I love Show. It ain't worth that. So I just borrow it for FREE at the library.... :)

THEY ARE AND I LOVES IT!

Especially when they sit down for their little slumber party and Dean's all touched that Sam's not giving up when it feels like his Dad isn't even trying and they sit on either side of the "Magic Talking Board" (It never fails to amuse me they couldn't get the trademarked "Ouija" and had to use a knock-off.... on the other hand, it totally suits THEM).

Yes, that scene is excellent...and I too find it amusing that they had to use a knock-off, but, yeah, it does suit them - nothing but second-best (or third- or fourth- or fifth-best) for the Winchesters!

I think the fact it WASN'T trademarked made it stand out all the more and it just has that slightly second-hand Salvation Army feel that pretty much permanently surrounds the boys. *hugs them* I think in some ways, if it wasn't so used-looking, if it was actually Milton Bradley, it'd probably stand out more.

You know, I have to say that I absolutely love the Salvation Army feel that pretty much permanently surrounds the boys. There are so many shows on TV that are about wealthy (to me) people or upper-middle class...and so few about working class people who really can't afford a new outfit every single week.

Anyway...that was a mini-rant. You are right - if it actually was Milton Bradley, it would have stood out. I like the fact that they had to do the worn out cheap knock-off.

All the shows to me deal with either wealthy or upper-middle class too... And while the guys aren't what I'd call working class -- I mean, hustling pool and credit scams aren't the most honorable forms of income -- they are definitely not what you'd consider rich. Not by a long shot. I think Dean even says at one time that he has $6 in his pocket. So I love them in their tattered jeans and flannel shirts and the whole Salvation Army feel. It makes them that much sadder and suits them. And I always thought the name-brand would've stood out and felt incongruous. It *HAD* to be the used, worn out, cheap knock-off because Sam wasn't even sure if it'd work and he wouldn't have paid full-price on a gamble.

Good luck! I'm a total spoilerphobe too and I lost like 3 online friends in an argument about why casting was spoilery and how it could have easily been avoided with a lj cut.

I'm also staying spoiler free for the rest of the season, so rest assured, no spoilers from me :)

Yay! :)

Only 3 more episodes and 4 weeks to go! I'm both excited and sad that it's so close to the end of the season.

Oh man, yeah, in my opinion the only thing that isn't spoilery is episodes titles - but even then, I prefer to not hear what they are until the week of. :P
