New Haircut

I got a new haircut. It's layered. It looks quite snazzy, if I do say so myself. A little less long-haired hippie, a little more young professional....ironically, though, I'm not really either of those things.  The hairdresser showed me some different ways that I could put it up. I appreciated it, since I've never known what the heck to do with my hair. Now all I need to do is buy some hair-clips and a comb. I'm really not very good at being a girl.

My visit to Toronto was nice. Jenny loaned me Firefly, which I never watched when it was on because "cowboys in space" is not really appealing (notably, also the reason I've never watched Cowboy Bebop, that and the ridiculous name). Anyway, Firefly is actually a good show, and now I feel bad that it was canceled. I really think they should just start making straight to DVD TV shows. It would save us all a lot of time.
Toronto still has all the leaves on their trees. It's like summer there. I couldn't believe it. I brought a sweater and thought that I was foolish to bring only one, and then never used it. All the leaves are on the ground here. We had strong winds yesterday and the trees are looking quite sparse as a result.

I'm going to spend my birthday (tomorrow) at my cottage. Mum and I are going to go for a hike and watch a movie. Obviously not at the same time. I'm hoping the trees are still pretty there. I'm bringing two cameras.

I still haven't done any writing; however, I did think of a really cool title for a book or short story. That's something, eh? I wrote it down in my journal of ideas...I'll bring that to the cottage too. I'm determined to drag myself out of this funk, if it's the last thing I do. Though, if it's the last thing I do, it's sort of pointless to bother. So, actually, I'm determined to drag myself out of this funk, if it's the second last thing I do!

DFAIT is hiring, but I can't decide if I should bother. I made a list of possible careers and realised that the world is an amazingly boring place when it comes to work. Gabe got a job at the liquor store again. I'm actually jealous. Life is a strange son.
