Quick Reaction: 4x17 It's a Terrible Life

hells_half_acreI don't actually spoil myself too much before new episodes, so this was a very odd surprise. Corporate!Dean was hilarious in all his extreme oppositeness to normal Dean. It was hilarious to see all of Sam crammed into a little cubicle.
1. Ok...just an observation, but given Sam's wardrobe change...well, let's just say I didn't mind watching Sam walk around.
2. The "Sammy" scene was good...well, there were a lot of great scenes...like the boys actually taking the Ghostfacers seriously - mind you, all the useful stuff the Ghostfacers knew was stuff they had learnt from the Winchesters.
3. I thought the 14th floor was actually the 13th floor, but going down in the elevator it said 13 too...so that was disappointing.
4. Smith & Wesson - love the fact that together they are still a gun. I really need to find one of those "Like The Gun" icons.
5. I was a bit disappointed that we didn't get to see Sam come back to reality at the end.
6. New angel character! Zechariah. Interesting...From the Hebrew name זְכַרְיָה (Zekharyah) meaning "YAHWEH remembers".
7. I didn't even clue into the fact that the show was normal colours until it reverted back to the Supernatural Colour Palette at the end there. It was a very cool effect, I thought.
It was a very interesting way for the Heaven to help Dean...I think it felt a bit too much like a quick fix, and that's my only problem with it. I know that it probably won't be, that Dean will still be struggling, but it still came off as a little too much of a "quick fix" episode, maybe because they usually let the brothers linger in pain a little more before they relieve them of it...or as in S3, spend the whole season gradually accomplishing something.
I liked the turn around from the first season - now it is Dean who is reluctant to be a Hunter, whereas Sam thinks it's great and that they would be helping people. This show often brings elements full circle and I've always liked that about it.
So, now the question is: Can we trust Zechariah? He's Castiel's superior...was he part of the contingent that ordered Cas to ask Dean to torture Alistair, that told Cas to step back and let Uriel lead because he was becoming too sympathetic to the humans? So far he hasn't done anything too suspicious, but still, in this show it's so hard to tell who to trust.
