While I could accept that perhaps the 'reformed' Draco, Astoria and Scorpius might live at the coach house, I knew there had to be a damn good reason for Lucius and Narcissa to be there too, and yep, death echos (and whatever else is lurking in the basement) - damn good reason!
Poor Draco. I certainly understand Dean's sentiment...picturing 'Draco younger, sitting at a table full of dark wizards while they murdered the teacher...and [wishing] Sam had pulled the trigger back at the dinner table'!
Great start to the chapter too. I so loved Draco telling off his parents, sending Lucius to his room and giving Narcissa a timeout! Very amusing.
The Dean/Draco interaction throughout the chapter, in various contexts, was excellent - seeing Draco relax at Dean calling him 'Drake' (and his parents equal disgust!) - the amusement at the car with the weapons and then again with the white peacocks - Draco questioning Dean about how he knew about the bathroom incident - and, of course, in the manor, with the Muggle Studies Professor.
Very cute little scene with Sam and Scorpius again - yeah, you know I'm a sucker for the kids - Dean's so natural with them, but you do so well with the awkward, but nevertheless good, Sam ;-)
And you continue to build a wonderful character with Astoria. First with her trying to right the damage Lucius had done, feeling so mortified that Dean and Sam thought she was just using them. And then: 'Dean watched as Astoria clasped her hands together and fidgeted slightly, and Draco looked both defeated and amused at the same time. Before Dean could figure out what it all meant, Astoria rushed forward and enveloped Draco in a huge hug. Dean coughed and looked away, as Draco blushed deeply.' - she seems to be doing so many good things for Draco's development (you just can't imagine him like that back at Hogwarts!).
