And yeah, I like to think about these sorts of things...and Lucius just, there really isn't much he could do to redeem himself at all. A father doesn't have to be absent or abusive to be a bad father...poor Draco never stood a chance with the parents he had.
I'm glad you like my Astoria, seeing as how I had absolute NO source material on her besides one sentence in the epilogue. :-P She's basically an OC when it comes to personality.
