You have a point about the wands, in that it is never specifically stated that the wand is proportionate to the size of the wizard. While most of examples you use are second-hand wands (in that they are not the wizard's "true" wand), not all of them are - so I concede the point. I was more thinking of examples like Umbridge, who had a stumpy little wand to the extreme of Hagrid who could disguise his wand as an umbrella. I'd like to argue that it's Jo that is inconsistent on the wand thing, and not just me who has gotten it wrong - but that seems rather petty of me.
So, instead, I'll just say that: I really just couldn't resist the joke. You'll have to forgive me.
