Locations: Fort Langely

I went out to Fort Langely the other day to buy a hat. Besides a fantastic hat store, Fort Langely also has a very large number of Supernatural location per square kilometer. 

I went to take a picture of my favourite one and discovered that the Fraser River likes it too...so much so, that the location is currently under at least a foot of water...





On the way to the hat store..and then when we stopped for delicious milkshakes, I walked by two other locations. Both featured in 7x16 Out With The Old.

The first is the Lampliter Cafe:

Which looks MUCH bigger on TV, my goodness.

The second is (I believe) the antique shop...which is actually only a few doors down from the Lampliter:
 



In other news - I have a fancy new camera with a great zoom lens. So, I might actually be able to take pictures at VanCon this year. Sadly, I still don't have a ticket for VanCon. I'm still warring with what my priorities are: getting a Gold ticket or saving money.

I suppose it's not the first time, but still. Odd seeing the place the boys stood looking like that.

It IS really weird to see it under water - even though I guess it happens every summer when the mountain snow starts melting quicker.

Someone is selling a ticket for seat D2, but...yeah, I just can't decide how much money I can afford to spend.

That is very weird seeing that little park under water. I saw some tweets last week or so from OLTV where she talked about the flood. Even showed some pictures from across the river and the bridge where they filmed Bobby meeting up with the Sheriff in 6x04. No pictures were shown of the park, but I suspected the park might be a little under water. Very sad to see, but I'm sure the water will subside in the next couple of weeks and all will be back to normal.

Agree with your comments about the Lamplighter Cafe. It does look a heck of a lot bigger in the episode than it does in your pictures. In fact, I remember when I first watched that in the episode I thought it was filmed somewhere else than that cafe because it looked so much bigger on the screen than from what I remember from being there. And the corner antique store is the store they used in this episode. I remember seeing some BTS pictures taken while they were filming and upon seeing them I knew where they were because I saw the yellow community center in the background, which, of course, you never saw in the episode.

Congratulations on your new camera. Very exciting. I hope you will get to use it at VanCon. Oh, btw, the D2 seat has been sold. I saw a tweet from the person that purchased it earlier this evening. Let's hope something still comes up that will fit within your wants. *fingers crossed*

Well, that makes that decision for me then! I probably wasn't willing to pay what they wanted anyway.

It's amazing how different things look when they're on screen. It's all deceptive camera angles and lighting. But yeah, I could hardly believe it was the same cafe either - but it definitely is!

I'm sure the water will recede soon. There was another park that I like to walk in that had large sections blocked off, because the expanded river was making the high banks unstable by eroding them from the bottom.
