I like how you rambled at the end. :D (And I'm totally with you on Fusion 'Verse. I had no idea what h/c was when I first read it, but it totally hooked me. Love Phnee's SPN writing, without fail.)

[identity profile] hells-half-acre.livejournal.com 2014-04-10 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, thanks! I felt like a dork, but then, I AM a dork, so it was an honest ramble. ;)

And yes, Fusion'verse is a dream for h/c, which is basically my favourite "genre". And Phnee does h/c better than anyone.

so much fun to listen to you! It seems like when you can hear a person you can know the better, Now we need to build a sealed vimeo channel so people can do private vids or something. :) the password could be like wiawsnb :)

Ha, a sealed vimeo channel would be a lot of fun!

Woodworking and archery…very cool hobbies. Plus I totally get collecting the water bottles. Great to hear your voice.

[identity profile] hells-half-acre.livejournal.com 2014-04-10 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, thanks. They're unfortunately hard hobbies to keep up with, since they require a shop and a range, respectively.

Oh my God, you have a younger sister named Susan? And she watched/watches Supernatural with you? That's like the story of my life right there. :)

[identity profile] hells-half-acre.livejournal.com 2014-04-11 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, yes, I do. She lost interest around S6-S7, and has only seen a bit of S8 and doesn't watch anymore, but she was always just a casual fan and not um...whatever kind of fan I am. :P

Since you are sharing with the class... ) What is your choice of wine? ))

[identity profile] hells-half-acre.livejournal.com 2014-04-11 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm usually always sharing with the class. ;)

Wine?

I'm not sure how specific you want me to be. I like white wine, or dry reds. As far as European wine goes, I prefer French wine over German wine (German wine tends to be sweeter, in my experience - and I like dry.) South American wines, I tend to prefer wines from Chili. Canadian wines? There's a white wine from Nova Scotia that I really like... I think it's called Acadia? It's been years since I've had it, but it has a slight hint of green apple.

I'm really not that picky though. I don't have the money to spend on the really fancy stuff, so it's in my best interest to keep my palate unsophisticated. ;)

[identity profile] pushistyj-koshk.livejournal.com 2014-04-11 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
As specific as you like :) And can I say I do approve of you choice!

I can't say I ever tried Canadian wine. I might have, but I have memory span of a gold fish must be all the wine :) I'll definitely give them a try!

Chilean wines are great! You are wrong(ish) about the German ones - Riesling is dry, for example.

Sometimes I think I should be ashamed because I tend to buy boxed wine, but I just can't be bothered :) And hey - bottles are heavy and the don't last long!

P.S.: Grapes don't grow where I'm from :( It's a sad, sad life!

[identity profile] hells-half-acre.livejournal.com 2014-04-11 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's true - I do like Rieslings. And I've had some very good dry reds in Germany too, but I used to find those by going to wineries and asking for the driest red they had, and then buying whatever they presented to me - I never had any luck trying to pick them out in the grocery store myself.

Boxed wine can be good too! They also sometimes sell wine in tetra packs...which, um, doesn't look very classy either, but I've bought those before too.

Grapes don't grow in most of Canada, so Canadian wine isn't THAT big of a market. I feel like I should know more about BC wines, since grapes actually grow in BC...but I don't. I've been to the Mission Hill winery in the Okanagan and had some good wine there... I had a red that was actually a blend of 4 grapes (a Quatrain, I think they called it), and it was AMAZING, but it was also $40 a bottle and yeah... like I said, being unsophisticated about my wine is easier on the wallet.

[identity profile] pushistyj-koshk.livejournal.com 2014-04-12 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooo! I did buy a Canadian bird chaser today :) Hope it works :) http://www.problemsolvers.com/garden-gadgets/scare-eyes-bird-chaser.htm

The best wine I ever had was G.H.Mumm champagne. And then of course a friend of mine had to say I should have bought Rosé, which is even more expensive :))))

[identity profile] hells-half-acre.livejournal.com 2014-04-12 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that thing creeps me out, so that's one point in its favour!

When I was living in Germany, we got used to how inexpensive wine was - and one day we were making a recipe where one of the marinade ingredients was wine, but we didn't have any, we only had Rosé. So, we just decided to use Rosé... it turned out SO DELICIOUS... but it's something that I've never repeated now that I'm back in Canada, 1)because I rarely make that dish anymore, and 2)Rosé is so much more expensive here. :P

Le sigh :) Thank god I don't smoke - at least I can save up some money :)

Hope my neighbours won't mind the scarecrow thingie too much :)

[identity profile] tipsy-kitty.livejournal.com 2014-04-12 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, you live in Vancouver and the most interesting thing is spring weather? Not how you can awesomely point out where every exterior scene was shot??

Hee, that was adorable, and now I can imagine your voice when I read your quick reactions :)

[identity profile] hells-half-acre.livejournal.com 2014-04-12 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha... oh man, why did I not think - THE SHOW IS SHOT IN MY GODDAMN CITY! I'm such a doofus. I was on a spring-is-beautiful high, because I had been out and about all day and a lot of the cherry trees are in bloom.

ANYWAY... that voice thing is actually pretty fun. If my quick reactions weren't so damn long, I'd think about doing audio version so you could get the full extent of my rambling. :P
