hells_half_acre | Another Clothing Guide!!!

Mostly10 over on Tumblr finally did what I hoped someone would do, because I was unwilling:

Mostly10 CREATED A CONVENTION CLOTHING GUIDE!

I was super thrilled, because I knew full well that Jared likes to steal Sam's clothes and wear them out in the wild. So, thanks to mostly10, you'll now find an additional fact listed at the bottom of the entries to some of Sam's shirts in my Clothing Catalogue.

Of course, I went through and picked out Sam's shirts very very late Sunday night when I should have been sleeping (...so sue me, I was excited), so I could have mis-identified some things, but hopefully if I did, people will let me know.

Unlike a lot of fans, I don't actually collect pictures of Jensen and Jared*, so I ONLY had the pictures from Mostly10's guide to go off of...and some of them aren't the best for light/colour/detail. So, yeah, if someone has a better picture of a shirt out there and tells me I didn't identify it correctly, then I'm willing to believe that person. :P

Also, in 2009 Jensen wore a very Sam-like shirt to Asylum 3. It's not Sam's shirt...but it's the style he favours, so subtract the Jensen-beard and you'd get an idea about what Dean!Sam would look like in a bodyswap episode (or what the show would look like if Jensen had been hired to play Sam and they kept the wardrobe the same).

*the only "Jared and Jensen" pictures I have on my computer are screencaps for my own clothing catalogue...so, yeah, not very useful. I do have

raloria's pictures from the two Vancouver Conventions that I went to - because I don't take my own pictures at that event, but that's it.

Brilliant! Y'know, ever since you mentioned Jared sometimes wears Sam's clothing to cons, whenever I see a con picture, I automatically wonder if it's one of Sam's. Almost drove myself crazy one night searching through If Clothes Could Talk, all the posts, trying to figure out if one particular shirt was Sam's. XD

What's funny is that despite recognizing the shirts when they are REALLY recognizable to me as Sam's, I don't actually think about it much... to the point where when I was looking over this Con guide trying to figure out what shirts were Sam's, this happened:

*compares plaid shirt in con guide with plaid shirts in clothing catalogue for 10 minutes*
"God, this picture isn't good enough for me to tell!! RAR! Now I'm going to have to look up other pictures from this freaking convention..."
*looks at convention name*
"...oh."
*pulls out picture of self and Jared from drawer and looks at Jared's shirt.*
"Yeah, that's not Sam's."

Like you, I was extremely excited about Mostly10's catalogue of Convention clothes for J2. I have so many picture unidentified and I've been trying to put them in my correct Convention folder and was going to start gathering the pics myself when theirs came out. So, yea, very excited. And it is funny how Jared wears some of Sam's shirts. Although I think Jensen sticks to his own clothes most of the time. He has even commented recently about how his wife picked some new clothes out for him.

Did you see the picture that was posted a couple weeks ago about how Jensen and Jared see to wear the same shirts a lot. This one shirt that was the latest posted I could swear that that is a Sam shirt, but I'm not sure.

Yeah, Jensen always wears his own clothes. Though, there was one convention photo that looked vaguely like one of Dean's shirts - so I marked it as a possibility. I know Jared has said that he also steals Sam's suits, because he has a really hard time shopping for suits in his size.

Are you talking about the blue plaid shirt? It's not one of Sam's, but yeah, it's plaid, so it's CLOSE. :P

I've actually looked at the available pics and determined that it's not the same shirt. It's the same MAKE AND STYLE of shirt, but they are two individual shirts, one owned by Jared and one owned by Jensen. Basically, they both went to the store and bought the same shirt, but they aren't sharing clothes.

Yes, the blue plaid shirt is the one I was talking about. Not a Sam shirt, huh, well, it does really look like it could be. And yea, that is very funny that J2 have the same shirt. That has happened on a number of occasions, so it is doubly cute that in many instances they have bought the same shirts.

BTW, off topic, have you seen the last couple of posting on FB and VanCon Community about the selling of a Gold ticket? I keep thinking of you when I see those and wonder if you see them too.

Yeah, I think it's adorable that they end up dressing the same and buying the same shirts. I'm not sure how on earth that happens. I think the first time they went to Italy, they were given some shirts - because they both came away from that convention with a particularly odd sweater (unless it really is an instance of clothes sharing). But yeah, I don't know how they end up with the same style of blue plaid shirt...unless they go shopping together (which is cute to think about).

Yes, I've got Kathleen with her eye on that community too, and we've been discussing my options. Both the tickets that I've seen for sale so far have been way off to the side - and I'd really prefer to be in the middle, even if I end up in the middle of the Silver section. Plus, I'm sure I can get something a little cheaper closer to the convention. I'm basically gambling this year that there will be SOMETHING inexpensive available eventually.

Basically, my goal this year is just to get in to the Con, and get Mark Sheppard's autograph. Anything else is gravy. (Mark's Sheppard's autograph isn't covered by Gold anyway, so regardless I'd have to purchase it.)

Glad to hear you are keeping an eye on the tickets. The last one posted was in Row B, I think, pretty close, but wasn't sure where the seat was. I really hope you will be able to get something. You could always just buy Gen if it came down to that, although after having Gold, that would be depressing, IMO. I'm sure more tickets will become for sale as we get closer.

Yeah, it was row B, but it was seat 3 or 8 or something ridiculous like that. So, I'd be right by the door way off to the side. I was way off to the side last year, and didn't particularly like it. You're much better off if your seat is somewhere between 10-30 in a row.

I went on Silver the first year, and that really was alright. I mean, yeah, you had to wait forever to get your autos, but we just spent the time chatting and it was fine. There are always people desperate to get rid of silver tickets just before the Con, so I'm hoping that Silver is my worst case scenario. (Though, my actual worse case scenario is me standing in the lobby of the hotel and visiting with you guys as you walk between the ballroom and the photo-ops. :P )

Sidenote: I see the word "Gen" used so often to refer to Genevieve Padalecki, that my first thought at you saying "You could always just buy Gen" was "I wish!" Hahaha

LOL. I had never thought of correlating Gen to Genevieve. I'll keep that in mind now whenever I make a comment to you.

I'm sure you'll get a ticket. You HAVE to get a ticket. You just have to be there in the ballroom with the rest of us. It wouldn't be the same, ya know!

I really hope you can get a ticket, Alex. I agree with Evelyn, it just wouldn't be the same without you! In fact, I'm hoping you'll be able to go around with us after the con to see locations.
