My issue with Sam's anger issues is the way that the show relatively recently tried to portray them as this random thing out of nowhere, not originating in any of the particularly sucky moments of his life, and thus ominous. I never had a problem with Sam having RAGE. Who wouldn't, considering his life? That right there is a pretty good reason to hold one hell of a grudge against the world at large.
