That's a really good point about Dean's wishes being a mess. It was a very flat and obvious plot device and I wish they'd spent another line or two of dialogue mentioning limits or a historical tendency for things to end baly (hey, how is it all this is known if no one smashed this pearl before?). I especially like the point about how this John is the one Dean knew best *heart breaks*
