I don't think it was me you were talking to about story-balance last week, but I know I've discussed it with other people before, so it might have been?

This season actually reminds me of s6, too, in terms of over-plotting resulting in under-plotting, if that makes any sense? (I still feel like...even without necessarily getting into the politics of it, Raphael should have played a bigger role in s6. Because even if they managed to conceal Cas' hidden agenda (and I think they could have, with some effort), having a better conception of the stakes he was playing for by having a better concept of what Raphael was doing would have...IDK, I feel like s6 would be more interesting and feel less disjointed if they did that.)

I also have the feeling now, the same way I did when marathoning s6 a while ago, that this season has a lot of potential for really interesting plotlines but isn't really living up to that. But even though it was disjointed, I still feel like the balance between MotW and Arc was better than it is now, the Writers just couldn't make up their mind on what the Arc should be--it switched every like five episodes. But, again, I marathoned s6 and I'm watching s9 live, so it might've felt different if I watched it slower. IDK.
