six or seven BOLTHOLES: what I want for Christmas.

WIGGINS: ACD Canon character. In canon, Wiggins was a "street Arab" who ran errands for Sherlock.

SHERLOCK: totally a girl's name.

WANDA: best casting ever.

AGRA: also ACD shoutout. In the Sign of Four, Mary Morstan comes to Holmes to find out why she keeps receiving pearls in the mail. Long story, but her dead dad was involved with the "Agra Treasure". So Agra is kind of like Mary's patrimony, which is very cool. It makes her John's Pearl of Great Price. :D

MAGNUTS: best coinage ever. :) I wanted someone to shoot him so bad. That's the problem with the rule of law. Mycroft can't just shoot whomever he pleases. Goshdarned rule of law!!!

SHERRINFORD: There's this ancient fanon that Sherlock and Mycroft have a third sibling named Sherrinford. In fanfic Sherrinford returns all the time and it is awesome. :D see this page:

Baring Gould is a "Holmes" biographer, basically an antique BNF, and his positions have become quasi-canon. He also theorized that detective Nero Wolfe is the offspring of Sherlock and Irene. !!!

REDBEARD: Another shoutout to fanon. Many fans speculate that Sherlock was one of those sociopathic children who murder pets. Of course Sherlock would never do such a thing without a good reason. But my money is that he murdered Redbeard, either accidentally or on purpose as part of an experiment, and that that triggered his diagnosis as a "high-functioning sociopath" that he has never let himself live down. One of the most heart-breaking things I ever read was Sherlock trying to give Mycroft a birthday present by presenting him with a perfect mouse skeleton -- the skeleton of a mouse that had been his own beloved pet. OMG, i cried my eyes out. I guess since I have rodent pets.... they don't live very long... a mouse skeleton would be a beautiful thing to have -- Mycroft didn't understand and Sherlock went into treatment. D: so that's my take on Redbeard. The name is supposed to make us think of pirates?? there is a French-language comic about a pirate Redbeard. Is baby Sherlock a ginger?
