somebody has to come up with the stories that the press comes up with in the spn verse to explain all the disasters caused by demons/monsters and angels over the past decade or so in the spn verse.

Some of the official 'explanations' given to some of the supernatural stuff is a bit too ... neat. Especially when you look at how they explained what happened in Carthage, when Lucifer had his men kill every last man, woman and child in that city. (even if you do assume that Carthage is a lot smaller in the spn verse than it is in real life, then that's still thousands of people, an entire town just gone... natural disasters like that would normally get a lot more attention than what happened in that ep apparently got)
