Proxies...

Hey Everybody,

Random question:

Does anyone know of a good proxy add-on/program that allows people outside the US to watch geo-locked streaming content? I use expat shield for the BBC, but I don't have one for the US. I tried the google add-on "stealthy" but it wouldn't work for me. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Oh, by the way: I have internet again! YAY! Finale two episodes are downloaded... and it's also a long weekend here in Canadaland, so I'm hoping to have my S8 timeline up by Monday. :)

I use Hotspot Shield but I'm already in the US so it's hard to test if it's working or not for US content lol. But it will let you set a US output so.

Cool, I'll look it up and see what the reviews say. I might test out a few.

Thanks!

Happy Victoria Day! My long weekend is after yours! :) I don't have an answer to your question, sorry.

Tunnelbear is meant to be good. I use one called UnblockUS tho is does cost $5 / month. But its meant i have managed to get Netflix - so worth it! (we dont have it in Oz)

Cool. I'll look up tunnelbear - and I'll remember UnblockUS is I ever want to get on US-Netflix. We have Netflix in Canada, but it doesn't carry nearly as much.

Thanks! I hope you have a good long weekend when it arrives! :)

Someone just told me of one, but I can't remember it off the top of my head right at the moment (sorry!), but if the other suggestions don't work out, let me know. I set up my own proxy and once I get home for the summer, I won't be needing to use it and I could set up a log in for you.

Oh cool. I'll let you know. I don't know enough about proxies/tech-stuff to set-up my own.

I'm going to test out some of the suggestions though and hopefully one of those will work out.

I use Media Hint as a Firefox add-on. It lets me use Hulu! And convert my Canadian Netflix account into a US Netflix account! It seems to work really well, and it's free. I've basically stopped downloading things since I got it.

Also, congrats on getting the timeline done! I haven't had time to look at it (I'm working half the weekend, alas) but I'm looking forward to it.

Ooo, cool! I stopped using Firefox and switched over to Chrome, but maybe they have a Chrome version too. :)

I hope you enjoy the timeline when you get a chance to see it. I'll miss working on it now that hiatus is here. I was watching White Collar last night and had to stop myself from pausing and looking for dates whenever there was a report/phone/computer screen. :P
