I thought I would love a few words here for me to eat as I've just finished watching the episode and it's still fresh on my mind.
Good job trapping Merlin exactly where he needed to be Morgana!
EXACTLY. I was shaking my head at her 'cleverness'. She heard what Mordred said, about the cave being a place to restore magic, yet instead of outright killing Merlin, she avalanched him. Didn't she ever learn that an avalanche doesn't necessarily -and mostly didn't- kill people??
Although we should be thankful for that I suppose LOL
The resolution for Merlin's loss of magic is BRILLIANT. I was afraid they'll forget that plot point so many years ago, and I was pleasantly surprised when they didn't. I did hope that whatever that snake thing was didn't succeed, because, like Balinor said, how can you lose what you are? But I guess we all lose ourselves -albeit metaphorically- sometimes, so there's that.
I love that Mordred is as ambiguous when he was 'bad' as when he was 'good'. I think he was so blinded by grief and revenge that he couldn't see what Arthur was doing, or how wrong Morgana was, that I hoped he would come back to himself when the prophecy has passed and he could see what's wrong with the picture.
And yes, I think that Arthur and Gwen knew about Merlin's magic! That had me dancing around with glee, if that turned out to be true!! *fist pumps*
There's actually a lot more I wanted to say, but I'll save some for the review that I'm going to write for both parts of the finale :)
