excellent recap again -- thanks! this is one of the ones I don't think I fully digested.... s7 is a bit of a blur to me quite honestly.
it just makes me think of 8.2 and Dean's attitude now towards the possessed. He's lost sight of their humanity, or at least, he's stopped letting the possibility of any remaining humanity in there, hinder him from his objective. Seeing victims of possession come out very traumatized, or sometimes dead -- or sometimes crazy -- might have some bearing on Dean's utilitarian attitude. He seems to think "they're probably already dead, or scarred for life..." I also remember how the human Meg berated them for not saving her. I think Dean has reached a point where he's just like -- dispatch the demon, and it's kind of become a mercy killing in terms of the human. Which, still really bothers me!!! because Dean needs to be about saving people. He is so messed up now.
