They know what kind of person you are and they probably tell the children (depending on how old they are) not to really pay you any mind, but just to show you the respect due an adult.
Yeah, the scary bit is that the children are as of yet unborn (first one is set to arrive in January). But we'll see if they even follow through on the nanny request - right now, we sadly live in different parts of a very large country. Though, if they asked me seriously, I probably would be more than half tempted to sell my furniture and move there. I do miss them, and the East, a lot.
