Nah, it's not just you - I think they really could have used a line in there where he was pissed off about it. But I think he WAS...and you're right, Dean DOES have more mercy for humans. I mean, he basically says back in Bloodlust that he was raised to hate monsters with every fiber of his being, and he does. He's basically a monster-racist.
