Yeah, my recommendation would actually be to ignore the prequels altogether and pretend they don't exist. That's what I do.

I watched Star Wars IV a lot when I was a kid, mainly just because I had a crush on Luke Skywalker (I do not anymore, and I have no idea what I was thinking at the time), but I don't really count myself as one of those huge Star Wars fans.
