There is part of Canada that has an "inland fjord" - work THAT one out! Hahaha, Canada is strange and awesome.

And yes, the Prairies are an extension of the sort of Iowa/whatevers section of the US...very flat, grassy, farmland. They stretch from Manitoba to Alberta (~the 100th meridian to the Rockies). (And I say ~100 meridian based solely on a Tragically Hip song "At the 100th meridian, where the Great Plains begin." - so hows that for geography knowledge! :P )
