It's so weird and nit picky, but on the subject of the professor- there's no way she has a house like that in San Francisco. It's too big, on a lot that's too big. Maybe she commutes in from Marin (also: I suspect they meant USF.) Or somewhere Pacifica-ish.

Also: basements. They just don't happen here.
