Yeah, that's what happened to me with Harry Potter too - I started it once the 3rd book came out, and then had to wait patiently for the 4th. You can tell because the first three books on my shelf are the paperbacks and then they go to hardcover. :P

Supernatural started during my "cable is an unnecessary expense" years, in which I would wait for friends to recommend me to a show and then start downloading it. Actually, I'm technically still in those years, but now I live with my sister who subscribes to cable. Anyway, long story short, no one thought to recommend Supernatural to me until my sister did so during the summer of 2008. I'm sure my sister regrets it some days. ;)

I've since turned two more people onto the series (possibly three), so I figure I've done my part in showing support!

Surprisingly, I never liked the x-files - I thought it was too scary. Gilmore Girls was too girly...so, was Dawson's Creek...so yeah, I didn't know who the boys were until I started watching the show. (Never watched Dark Angel either. And though I DID see Cheaper By The Dozen, Jared's performance didn't really stick out in my memory :P ).
